Chapter Fifteen
Georgia
I'd be lying if I said my mind didn't go straight to the bedroom the second Brodie and I pulled into his driveway.
But who could blame me? The man stands at least five inches taller than me, and he's a human wall of rock-solid muscle, and some of that muscle is painted in tattoos that fit his sculpted forearms perfectly. During the drive, I can't help but sneak little peeks at his profile, his defined jawline barely starting to stubble, and those hazel eyes that stand out at night.
When we get inside, he holds my hand, steadying me as I slip out of my heels.
"I thought you were taller tonight," he smirked, looking down at me once I returned to normal.
"Yeah, I kind of cheated on the last casino night," I admit. "The dress was long enough for me to wear flats. Mom's idea."
"Moms usually know best," he says as we walk into the kitchen. He takes off his suit jacket and lays it across one of the bar stools before rolling up his sleeves in a way that already has me checking him out more than before.
What is it about a man who rolls up his sleeves? I try not to drool too much when his sleeves stop at his elbow, revealing the hard and soft lines of black and gray tattoo ink.
"Why don't I make the drinks?" I offer, heading to the dry bar just off the side of the kitchen.
"I'll find some glasses," he nods, turning towards the cabinets, showing off his perfect ass I'm sure I could bounce a quarter off of.
Drinks, Georgia. Focus!
I shake my head out of whatever has gotten into me tonight and start mixing up a couple of Jack and Cokes once Brodie comes around with the glasses.
"What can I help with?" he asks, coming up from behind me. He sets the glasses in front of me, but I can't focus.
It's when he's standing right behind me, his chest pressed against my back, that I feel small, almost tiny compared to him. I breathe in a shaky breath that takes in the scent of his spicy cologne that mixes perfectly with the whiskey that lingers on his lips from earlier.
"Georgia?" he asks, but my mind is taking too long to try to string a damn sentence together.
Instead, all I do is lean back into him. The second I do, his hands take my hips, holding me against him as his mouth hovers over the top of my ear; he's that tall. His warm breath tickles my bare skin, and I'm dying for him to kiss when he leans his head down a little lower until his lips hover in the crook of my neck.
"Distractingâ¦" I force the word out. I grab hold of the counter, my knees feeling wobbly under me. "You⦠you're very distracting."
"Don't worry, I've got you," he whispers, wrapping his arms around my waist. I've only had a couple of sips of champagne tonight, but I feel unbalanced, like I've had four cocktails.
